COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN LONG BEACH MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER, MILER CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL AND CALIFORNIA NURSES ASSOCIATION December 10, 2002 – December 9, 2005 ARTICLE 8 – DISCHARGE AND DISCIPLINE The right to maintain discipline is vested exclusively with the Employer. An RN may only be disciplined or discharged for just cause. The Union shall be timely notified of all RN suspensions and discharges.
The discharge or discipline of a probationary RN may be done at any time during the initial probationary period at management’s discretion. The Employer may extend the initial probationary period at its own discretion in lieu of termination. An RN who is on his or her initial probationary period who is disciplined or discharged shall not have access to the grievance procedure. |
